🚴 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡 𝗨𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗬𝗡𝗘 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘!

Cycle from the source of the River Tyne to Tynemouth in one day on Saturday 27th May, fundraising for @cashforkidsne to support young lives right here in the North East.

This beautiful yet challenging 72 or 57 mile ride will take you from Alston (or Haltwhistle for the shorter route) through Cumbria, into Northumberland with breathtaking views along the way. After rolling down the South Tyne Valley, the river converges with the North Tyne and you’ll pedal along Hadrian’s Cycleway to the Quayside and the finish at Crusoe’s on Tynemouth Beach where you’ll receive your finisher’s medal, t-shirt and a well-deserved drink and tasty street food from Crusoes.

You won’t be the only one on the road that day, as Steve from Steve and Karen's Breakfast Show @thesandk @metroradiouk will be completing the same route by running 80 miles! He'll be starting at 4am and you’re sure to catch him up at some point along the route, so you can give him some encouragement as you pass!

🚴 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝟴𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝟲𝗽𝗺 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳.

We're working with cycling experts WATBus and WATBike to deliver this event safely. Both rides are a significant physical challenge, so you need to be fit and healthy to enter. We recommend at least five weeks of regular cycling at least three times per week, 1-2 hours per ride. There'll be a mandatory safety kit list which you will need to carry on you/your bike for the event. This will be in the rider briefing document sent to riders four weeks before.
